As
you proceed slowly along the trek upward, the varied
characteristics of nature and those of the cultures
and customs of different ethnic groups are noticed.
From a starting altitude of 1300m you will climb to
3210m at Poon Hill, where you will enjoy not only a
superb panorama of both Annapurna and Dhaulagiri but
also a splendid and magnificent view of sunrise. Poonhill
is one of the most interesting features of this trekking
tour.
The downward return trek becomes different
from that of upward. It flows through one of the biggest
forests of rhododendron found in the world. If the
month is right, the complete forest becomes a mixture
of white and red blossoms of rhododendron.
The trek provides a challenging and
rewarding way of seeing some of the large Himalayan
peaks up close, as well as viewing the culture of
villages in central Nepal.
