Mustang Area (15 days trek)
Mustang is one of the districts in mid-western part
of the kingdom of Nepal. This district is divided
into two parts i.e. Upper Mustang and Lower Mustang.
From tourists point of view the Upper Mustang has
become the center of attraction since it has been
isolated and remained aloof from the outer worlds
and modern civilization for centuries.
Mustang ( Hidden Valley )
The Upper Mustang and the Wall City of Lo-Manthang
are unique places in the earth from the point view
of its geographical location, climate, vegetation,
and its phase of civilization. According to historians
and archaeologists, the civilization of Mustang is
one of the most ancient human civilizations renowned
as 'Cave Civilization'.
Now a days Mustang has become a destination
for those who are curious enough to know the ancient
civilization and to see the aboriginal characteristic
of the nature, politically, Mustang is a place where
the existence of a king is very much consolidated
and respected as an incarnation of God. There had
been monarchy even before the unification of Nepal
and after the unification of Nepal under Gorkha dynasty,
the monarchy of Mustang continued to be existed. This
means there is a constitutional monarchy for the kingdom
of Nepal but for the inhabitants of Mustang there
exist two monarchs-one king of Nepal and the other
one of Mustang. It is a matter that perhaps astonishes
not only Nepali people but the tourists as well. The
government of Nepal has recognized formally the status
of the king of Mustang and respects him.. Against
such background, if you start trekking to Mustang
region, your trek will naturally ne a matter beyond
imagination and you will enjoy a lot during your trekking
because it will be as much interesting and enchanting
as you have never imagined to be so.
